  • Mozilla 1.7 Alpha 在擋跳出視窗功能上多了數個功能提升。
    • 首先，現在可以利用兩個偏好設定(dom.popup_maximum 與 dom.popup_allowed_events)來調整功能，但是現在還沒有使用介面。即使沒有使用介面，用戶應還是會注意到有更多的跳出視窗(主要是滑鼠滑過跳出視窗)被擋住，還有不論擋跳出視窗啟用與否，一次能視窗開啟的限定為 20 個。
    • 1.7 Alpha 也加入了介面讓用戶可以檢視被擋住的視窗然後開啟它們。(編者註：是在狀態列上擋跳出視窗圖示的右鍵選單還是甚麼?)
  • 下載現在會在用戶指定地點時直接移到目標 directory。這是常報問題 bug 55690。
  • 現在在「個人偏好設立」→「Appearance」有使用介面讓用戶啟用 Smooth Scrolling。
信件
  • 這是第一個 Mozilla 1.x 釋出有支援同一個帳戶多重身份的釋出。詳情見「多重身份支援」文件。
  • 1.7a 也是個第一個 有支援 relative paths 郵件夾 in prefs.js 的 Mozilla 1.x 釋出。This makes it easier to copy profiles around without having to fix up prefs.js afterwards.
  • With Mozilla 1.7a, you can now edit address lists containing "Last, First" style names.
  • When composing mail, you can now use the up and down arrow keys to scroll through the To/CC/Bcc list.
  • On Mac OS X, attachment file names are no longer displayed in decomposed Unicode but are converted to composed Unicode.
  • All Mozilla LDAP queries now default to using LDAPv3 (previously, they used LDAPv2). There is a hidden .protocolVersion preference which can force LDAP v2 to be used on a per-server basis. LDAP autoconfig authors can force v2 also by adding a setProtocolVersion call to their JS. Details can be found by grovelling through bug 198168.

更新到 1.7 RC 2 囉
我還是不知道 Under the hood 怎翻好?
還有就是這一版的 What's New 變動不大，主要是 Mac 版也增加了 talkback 功能

「帽底乾坤」好不好？那種揭秘的感覺不知道有沒有顯示出來。

anyway, 同一個網址現在有 1.8 alpha1 的 what's new 翻譯，我還沒做完，如果有興趣幫忙的可以去看看 ;)

under the hood 的意思，我的理解:比較內部的東西 (比如像是「支援某 CSS 屬性」這種，跟一般使用者沒關係，不過跟網頁設計師等大有關係的內部功能)

涵義查到四種解釋:
1. 「英文里有一个常用短语，叫做"under the hood"，钻进魔术师的帐篷，屏住呼吸，瞪大眼睛，把那些奇妙的魔法看个通透，让自己的理解和技艺获得巨幅的提升，这种诱惑，任何一个程序员都无法抵挡！」

product (hardware, software, or idea). Implies that the
implementation is not intuitively obvious from the appearance,
but the speaker is about to enable the listener to grok it.

the appearance would indicate: "Under the hood, we are just
fork/execing the shell."

4. Inside a chassis, as in "Under the hood, this baby has a

我比較喜歡第一個(中文，或英文三種解釋的第一個也喜歡)... 有種潛藏的感覺，比較像該欄內所提到的東西(都不是一般使用者碰得到的)，所以用了相近的意思。

還是各位覺得用哪種比較好？那我便再想幾個詞來...
雖然說「留著不翻」是種做法，總還是希望能找出對應的詞。
至於「帽底乾坤」，我「自己」覺得蠻符合中文那句的意境啦.. ^^;

至於說看不懂, 說實在 under the hood 照字翻我也看不懂
這或許本來就是個需要解釋涵義的詞吧？

總之希望還是有人能幫忙找個好點的解釋...

I feel that would be too length, and create confusion for three simple words - under the hood.

I suggest not to translate "under the hood" but using another phrase which has similar meaning but may not be as nice.
