So, how good is the new H.264 video compression codec? Here is my showcase of the incredible H.264 video compression technology in the MPEG-4 standard. H.264 is also known as MPEG-4 Part 10. H.264 can match the best possible MPEG-2 quality at up to half the data rate. To see the movie: Antony Desktop in Action, part 4 in H.264 format. (You will need QuickTime 7 Player to watch the movie. 905KB) The same movie is encoded in popular format for non-QuickTime 7 users. QuickTime 5+ or recent verions of RealPlayer is required, 1.38MB. (Sorenson Video 3 format, a popular codec.) Let's do some math, 1.38MB is about 1413KB. It's easy to tell that the Sorenson Video 3 takes 56% more then the H.264 format in file size. Mac mini, price starting at US$499. 在台灣這個x86很便宜的地方，ppc就算是mac mini也是小貴多的錢足以把電腦基本週邊弄到齊…螢幕還可以用lcd。俺乃窮學生一枚也，要有錢我也想去敗一台（buy）上次sales玩mac mini給我看，回家差點把家裡的x86給砸了… mac mini對我來說有個好處，就是放在家裡家人也不會覺得我多了一台主機出來比較不會講什麼…只有我自己覺得敗家而已XD
