Since Firefox 3 pre-release nightly builds now include virtually everything required to run external XUL applications, the Firefox developers were recently able to port over the XUL application launch code from XULrunner. This is advantageous, because it means that XUL applications will be able to run anywhere that Firefox 3 is installed without requiring a whole separate runtime.
