New Opera Carakan Engine Two and a Half Times Faster than Opera 10 Alpha Presto 2.2 引言回覆: “Using a regular cross-platform switch dispatch mechanism (without any generated native code) Carakan is currently about two and a half times faster at the SunSpider benchmark than the ECMAScript engine in Presto 2.2 (Opera 10 Alpha). Since Opera is ported to many different hardware architectures, this cross-platform improvement is on its own very important,” revealed Jens Lindstrom, Opera developer. “The native code generation in Carakan is not yet ready for full-scale testing, but the few individual benchmark tests that it is already compatible with runs between 5 and 50 times faster, so it is looking promising so far.”
如果號稱的沒錯的話 依照之前的各家瀏覽器評比 能夠領先fx的猴子不少 實際可用的測試版尚未放出 |

印象中Opera 10 Alpha Javascript真的有慢到(比IE8 rc1好一點而已)，要比他快2.5倍不是太大困難 而且之前 fx有開tracemonkey跟沒開的差距為1.83倍是2008年8月的事 http://weblogs.mozillazine.org/roadmap/ ... ghtsp.html 現在(2009年1月) FX有開tracemonkey跟沒開的差距又更大了，至少是兩倍以上 http://www.favbrowser.com/chrome-2-webk ... -opera-10/ 看這邊的數據，FX 3.1將近 Opera 10 alpha的3倍快 |

之前 Apple 釋出的 SquirrelFish Extreme 引擎，堪稱比 v8 跟 Tracemonkey 還要快，可是實際 sunspider 測試數據，並沒有那麼誇張耶.. |

其實問題在於測試的系統 這地方可以作點手腳美化數據 我控肉duo的nb上 fx3.2alpha在sunspider的測試略低2000 chrome為1500 ie8rc1是8000 op10沒裝不知但op9約3000出頭 2.5倍的效能話 至少在我nb可以跟fx跟chrome達到同一水平 所以確實有可能在op他們自家的環境下 達到號稱的最快 |
