The Camino Project has released Camino 1.0.4. This release is a security and stability update for Camino 1.0. Camino 1.0.4 includes fixes in Mozilla Gekco rendering enging (v.1.8.0.10), Java Embedding Plugin has been upgraded to version 0.9.6, and sheets will now close as expected on Intel-based Macs.
Changes over Camino 1.0.3 are:
- Fixed several critical security and stability issues, including those fixed in version 1.8.0.10 of the Mozilla Gecko rendering engine.
- Sheets will now close as expected on Intel-based Macs.
- Upgraded the bundled Java Embedding Plugin to version 0.9.6.
- Added support for importing iCab 3 bookmarks.
- Improved the handling of Internet Explorer .url shortcut files.
- The text of certain security dialogs now contains “[tt]Camino[/tt]” instead of “[tt](null)[/tt]”.
- Camino will now make a backup copy of the bookmarks file when it launches if the file is not corrupt.
- Camino will automatically restore bookmarks from a backup when it launches if they are unreadable.
- Further improved ad-blocking.

The Camino Project recommend all users to upgrade to this version. Camino 1.0.3 was released on
15 September 2006, and
Camino 1.1 Beta which adds Session Saving feature was released on 23rd February 2007.

Unlike Firefox, Camino's
default setting does
not secretly download the update and only inform the user the update will be installed upon next re-launch of the application.
