According to Market Share and the Mac Observer. Our beloved Safari's market share has increased from 1.66 percent in Jan 2005 to 3.07 percent by the end of 2005.

In contrast, Internet Explorer lost market share from 89.44 to 85.05 percent. The number two browser, Firefox, had 5.59 percent in January, and ended with 9.57 percent in year's end.

Our beloved Safari is the only single-platform browser with any significant market share.

Probably it's because starting from Panther, Safari is the default browser (Microsoft pulled IE Mac)

Yes and no. It depends on the hardware you bought. Newer Mac hardware do not include MSIE.
