Microsoft has stopped distributing Internet Explorer for Mac. And they recommend users to use Safari instead.

引言回覆:
In June 2003, the Microsoft Macintosh Business Unit announced that Internet Explorer for Mac would undergo no further development, and support would cease in 2005. In accordance with published support lifecycle policies, Microsoft ended support for Internet Explorer for Mac on December 31st, 2005, and is not providing any further security or performance updates.

Accordingly, as of January 31st, 2006, Internet Explorer for the Mac is no longer available for download from Microsoft. It is recommended that Macintosh users migrate to more recent web browsing technologies such as Apple's Safari.


Internet Explorer for Mac was the most Mac interface application back then.

繼WMP之後，又停了一個軟體。幸好IE在mac上的用戶還不算太多，但是下一個被停止支援的不知道會是什麼東西，MSNMessenger?或是MSOffice...。

MSIE for Mac was the most popular browser back then.

Microsoft Messenger will not be discontinued anytime soon.

Microsoft Office for Mac and Microsoft Messenger will have updated in the next five years at least.
During Macworld San Francisco 2006, Microsoft announced a formal five-year commitment to develop products for the Mac platform.

(BTW, it's now called “Microsoft Messenger”, not “MSN Messenger” for Mac platform.)

的確之前IE的用戶很多，在OS9早期的時候我也是用IE。但是到了safari出來之後，加上許多其他瀏覽器爭奪這塊市場，情勢已經有了改變。現在如果IE還是這麼熱門的話，微軟也沒有必要停止繼續研發IE。

中文支持很差,看IE Only的網頁時,效果還比不上Fx、Safari

在 Web 標準的支援上是好太多了。
基本上，DTD 的觀念就是其中一個當時 IE Mac 的 developer 提出的
