The Omni Group has released
OmniWeb 5.5, making OmniWeb 5.5 out of beta. OmniWeb 5.5 is based off a slightly customised version of WebKit. This means greatly improved website compatibility, speed and stability. WebKit is the rendering engine powers Apple Safari. On top of that, OmniWeb is now a Universal Binary.

Some interesting features of OmniWeb including the way it organises Tabs and the Site Preferences setting. Unlike most other browsers, OmniWeb organises tabs in a drawer, you can see the screenshot if you want to. The Site Preferences allows users to control each individual site's preferences such as images loading, cookies, JavaScript, ads blocking, ... etc allows users to control security on site bases. We noted this is very similar to
Site Control concept introduced in
Netscape 8.
(Netscape 8 is available for Windows only.)
