台灣人喜新厭舊的個性真是一絕啊..... 我必須承認我是很喜新厭舊的人，除非舊的真的比較好，新的反而更差。 比如說 SessionSaver 擴充套件，就以官方來講「尚未支援」Firefox 2.0（其實 XPI 抽來把版本往上撞一點就行了，但是...懶得弄），不過 Firefox 2.0 本身就已經把 SessionSaver 的工作階段還原和復原關閉分頁功能（兩個我最需要的功能），所以就不想把 XPI 拿來硬安裝到 Firefox 2.0 上。 |

That's one of the attitudes of "open-source" activists. There are a bunch of people who can't live without the latest patch or update. So what does that mean? Using Firefox as main browser means endless updates every now and then. |

Usually, I refer to those who much use latest of whatsoever and demands everything to be open-source and blocks every advertisement they can as open-source extremists. If you've paid attentions to mainstream MozillaZine active members, it's not hard to notice a huge portion of them are open source activists/extremists, as well as a very high percentage of them can't live without latest patches or updates on everything, not just browsers. Rushing to the latest version (not necessary bleeding-edit nightlies) is a common practise there. Also, in my humble opinion, there's no need to panic about each vulnerability discovered. Most of those are NOT that serious as the way they've been reported. Most of the seriousness are over exaggerated. (It is common for discovers and vulnerability reporting sites to exaggerate the situation, as people want to make news.) Open-source extremists, on the other hand, would treat each minor vulnerability as a serious fault/bug. |
