Brother says to sister
“ I don’t care what you say.”
Sister says to brother
“ I already knew, I just had to make sure.”
The world turns black and gray.
You’re not that powerful anyway, anymore.
The sky expands,
The birds disappear.
It’s night and the sky is stretched like taffy, contort like water waves, sparkles like northern lights, doused with glitter.
Treetops bend together like a flame following a baby’s finger.
I want to scream, but am too exhausted by everyone, everything.
The only thing scarier than a deep blue sky is a milkly white one sucked from a straw, the indifference of us all is momentarily cast aside as our eyes follow the heavens.
Whether the ground is wet from the rain or the runaway’s tears, I don’t know.
Hail hits hard.

哥哥告訴妹妹

Oh marvel passing strange which next I saw:
In sleep he dwindled to the common size,
And all the empire faded from his coat.
Then from far off a winged vessel came,
Swift as a swallow, subtle as a flame:
I know not what it bore of freight or host,
But white it was as an avenging ghost.
It levelled strong Euphrates in its course;
Supreme yet weightless as an idle mote
It seemed to tame the waters without force
Till not a murmur swelled or billow beat:
Lo, as the purple shadow swept the sands,
The prudent crocodile rose on his feet
And shed appropriate tears and wrung his hands.

What can it mean? you ask. I answer not
For meaning, but myself must echo, What?
And tell it as I saw it on the spot.
